The matter came to light following a complaint against Gupta by the DMC to the court in Delhi. In its complaint, the council claimed that despite being de barred in 2016, Gupta was operating a private clinic in Karol Bagh where he is projecting himself as a doctor who terms homosexuality as a 'genetic mental disorder' and claims to cure it. Abhilash Malhotra, metropolitan magistrate told news agency PTI that the 'conversion therapy' prescribed by Gupta is one that is recognised neither by legislature nor by medical science.'
