To celebrate the life of Sridevi, Deepika not only launched the book but also spoke about the beautiful equation she shared with the late diva. Revealing that Sridevi was like a mother figure to her, Deepika goes on to add that, "my relationship with Sridevi was beyond the movies. She was like a mother figure to me. After every single film of mine after Love Aaj Kal, I would get a call from Boney Kapoor and after he congratulated me, Sri would come on the line. I developed a sense of familiarity and comfort with her."
Since it #x2019;s not every day that a celebrity name drops their former neighborhood with the subtlety of an aircraft carrier, the intrepid blogs that invariably cover this sort of real estate rapture have seized upon the opportunity to inspect and academize the home where Swift once lived -- no doubt happily, for a brief stint in 2016, with her cats, yogurts, and presumably a full DVD box set of Friends in each room. Thanks to Curbed, we can now experience a virtual townhouse tour of Swift #x2019;s 5,500 square foot rental, which contains everything you #x2019;d expect a pop star of Swift #x2019;s fortune and brief familiarity with The Sims to have: high ceilings, low chaises, stainless steel, natural light, exposed brick, shy brick, rugs, art, and plants maintained by proper caretakers and not just gay millennials on Instagram. Skype has undergone a much needed redesign yet again, this time retracting on mistakes, and going back in time to bring a simple and navigation friendly design. It has removed the Highlights feature introduced last year, and is bringing back a simple interface that is easy to understand. The new interface brings back the Skype "Classic" blue theme, and easy Contacts discovery. It claims to be "refocusing on the fundamentals of why most people use Skype to make a call (often with video) and or send a message."Skype admitted to its recent complex design changes, and said that it realised the critical need to maintain simplicity and familiarity. To this effect, the company announced that it would roll back the Snapchat like Highlights feature that was introduced last year. "This past year we explored some design changes and heard from customers that we overcomplicated some of our core scenarios. Calling became harder to execute and Highlights didn't resonate with a majority of users," the company said in its blog post. The company said that all the Highlights are downloadable till September 30, after which they will be deleted forever.
Microsoft just announced a number of changes the company is rolling out to restore Skype 's simplicity and familiarity. When the company introduced the modern Skype, it introduced radical changes that turned the app into an actual, modern app. But of course, that didn 't really work too well with some of Skype 's classic users.
San Francisco: Facebook Inc., which is cutting the amount of news in its news feed, will prioritize information from the publishers that remain on the social network by measuring how trustworthy they are, the company said.Trustworthiness is based on a recent survey of US Facebook users that gauged their familiarity with, and trust in, different sources of news. The results will inform the company 's ranking in the news feed, a stream of updates people see when they log in. News sources should also be informative ” and relevant to people 's local communities, the company said in a statement on Friday. The move helps Facebook avoid perceptions of bias in selecting what news providers to highlight.
Jack O'Connell as Brick and Sienna Miller as Maggie in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' at the Apollo Theatre Johan Persson Tennessee Williams's 1955 masterpiece shows you a Mississippi world awash with whisky and lies. Brick former college football star and impotent husband of Maggie the Cat would rather numb himself to oblivion with booze than own up to the real nature of his relationship with his dead friend Skipper. Nobody dares to tell Brick's father, the overbearing Big Daddy, that his spastic colon is cancer. It's the plantation owner's 65th birthday and he hasn't yet made a will, so the festivities are bound to be fractious...As with his production of Streetcar Named Desire, starring Gillian Anderson, a few years ago, Benedict Andrews offers a brilliant, lacerating account of the play that jolts you out of any complacent sense of cosy familiarity with the dramatist's characteristic terrain. He's a director who likes to strip things to their primal forces. The lights go up here and Jack O'Connell's excellent Brick is seen slumped naked and despairing under the flow of water from a free standing shower that seems to grow like a strange plant out of the bedroom carpet. Over the course of the evening O'Connell has to spend so much time under this spray, as Brick seeks unconscious watery absolution, that I began to wonder if his insurance covers erosion.
As Boys Get Fatter, Parents Worry One Body Part Is Too Small. ” It 's hard to say whether this New York Times article title violates Facebook 's algorithmic crackdown on headlines that withhold information required to understand what the content of the article is. ” On the one hand, the headline doesn 't explicitly say what the one body part ” might be. On the other hand, anyone with even a passing familiarity with common euphemisms can guess what the body part is: the ear.L.V. Anderson is a Slate associate editor.

Everything is looking good as the Burmese government and a number of ethnic armed groups prepare for a political dialog, which is soon to begin. On Oct. 15 last year, eight such groups signed a Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement with the government. Just as many groups did not sign, but the agreement nevertheless silenced the guns in two thirds of the conflict areas. By strength of forces of the eight signatories, it s like 80 per cent of the ethnic armed groups. That s the situation in Burma s conflict areas if one is to believe what Tin Maung Thann, special adviser to the government affiliated Myanmar Peace Center (MPC), said in an interview with Frontier Myanmar, a Rangoon based magazine, which appeared on its website on December 24. Thant Myint U, who has served as an adviser to President Thein Sein and the MPC, told Frontier on Jan. 7 that, Thousands of hours of informal and formal talks have created an atmosphere of familiarity, if not trust, that did not exist before. We have an initial ceasefire agreement whose text has been almost universally agreed, with parliamentary ratification and international recognition. Other peacemakers have said that the Oct. 15 agreement means that the train has left the station, others can join later or be left behind when the political dialog process begins.
For the past 40 years no English television producer has been capable of making a programme mentioning Wales without sticking a pile of old chaps on top of a mountain to croon ˜We™ll Keep A Welcome™.Turning this valuable tradition into a cliché has made us rather dismissive of the male voice choir. Familiarity does indeed breed contempt. In the same way as our incredible coal heritage has been played down by those wanting to project a cooler Cymru, so choral males have been deemed naff Taff in the 21st century.
