”The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying, ” Chuck Woolery wrote. ”The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust. ” Woolery stated, without evidence, that the supposed lies were ”all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back. ” The state of the economy is seen as being Trump ''s strongest selling point for his reelection this fall.

In an interview with The Washington Post Trump claimed credit for a previously reported but never before confirmed attack on the Internet Research Agency, the allegedly Moscow controlled outfit that the Mueller Report found conducted a massive disinformation campaign ahead of the 2016 presidential election.Trump s remarks to the Post were thin but seemingly substantiate other statements in which he has said the USA was aware of the 2016 misinformation campaign and had resolved to prevent a recurrence.
The subtext behind the Congress decision is a lack of strong leadership, as reflected in the fact that at least three of the party s aspiring chief ministers Shaktisinh Gohil, Arjun Modhwadia and Siddharth Patel lost their own seats even as it put up its strongest fight against the BJP in two decades in the last assembly elections in 2017.Hardik Patel told ThePrint after his appointment Saturday night that he was not aware of the promotion until it was announced. I will do the same work that I have been doing reaching out, he said when asked about his plans.

But in the recent restructuring of the BJP state unit announced by its president Chandrakant Patil, Somaiya, a former BJP national general secretary, was unceremoniously removed as a vice president, and left out in the cold, just as he was for the 2019 parliamentary elections. Somaiya was replaced by Manoj Kotak for Mumbai North East Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 elections. Kotak won the seat.Ever the loyalist, if Somaiya was disappointed, he hid it well then, and he has done so a second time now.
Thiessen writes in the Post that during his interview he asked Trump if he had launched a cyber attack. Thiessen said Trump replied: "Correct. "Trump said during the interview that in 2016, then President Barack Obama "knew before the election that Russia was playing. Or, they told him. If so, who knows? And he said nothing. And the reason why The one that didn #39;t say anything was that she didn #39;t want to touch him because she thought (Hillary Clinton) was winning because she was reading fake polls. So, he thought she was going to win. And we had the silent majority who said, "No, we like Trump. "

Joint operationIndian Intelligence agencies believe that Pakistan and China are acting in tandem. Additional Pakistani troops have been moved closer to the LoC in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir sector as well as near the Punjab and Jammu borders. The Chinese People;s Liberation Army, which was very active from May 1 to May 18, has massed troops at 18 locations near the LAC. In seven locations in Ladakh they had crossed the border, and of these, in five positions they moved 3 to 4 km inwards. The Chinese forward movement was accompanied by the building of huts, bunkers and roads. Since then there has been some pull back of Chinese forces.Bypassing chiefGeneral Bipin Rawat became the first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) in January this year. But since the post is newly created, the profile and duties of the CDS on a daily basis are still unclear. It is learnt that sometimes Chief of Army Staff General M M Naravane is taken aback when General Rawat talks directly to Army officers on defence matters, going over his head.Waiting in wingsAttorney General K K Venugopal, 89, was keen to step down after his three year tenure ended earlier this year, due to his advanced age. But, he was persuaded to accept a year ''s extension. The government is in talks with senior counsel Harish Salve, currently based in London, to eventually take over the AG ''s post. Salve has impressed Prime Minister Modi after his legal victory on Kulbhushan Jadhav at the International Court of Justice. He charged a token fee of one rupee for the complex case. Salve has requested a grace period of eight months to decide on the offer, as he has some personal work to tie up first.Cup and lip slipThe Congress believed it had sewn up the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Manipur, and would also succeed in toppling BJP Chief Minister N Biren Singh, since it had persuaded a few disgruntled former Congress MLAs who has switched to the BJP to return to its fold. But there is many a slip between the cup and the lip. Thanks to some deft moves by Assam Deputy Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Biren Singh survived, at least temporarily. The Congress was so flat footed that it sent Ajay Maken and Gaurav Gogoi as election observers for the Rajya Sabha poll without first finding out the quarantine rules in Manipur. When the observers landed in the state, they were sent into quarantine since they had failed to book return tickets for the same day. The Congress also did not reckon that blood is thicker than water. Though Congress MLA Imo Singh is from an old Congress family, he is the chief minister ''s son in law and took full advantage of the relationship. Imo Singh jumped ship as did several other turncoats. The BJP may have won this round, but the question is how much longer Sarma will remain content to play second fiddle to CM Sarbananda Sonowal in Assam, considering he is the BJP ''s master strategist for the entire Northeast.Veteran ''s victoryWhen the 77 year old Lingayat leader B S Yediyurappa was appointed Chief Minister of Karnataka it was presumed it was a stop gap arrangement and the real power in the state would lie with BJP General Secretary (Organisation) B L Santhosh, who would eventually succeed him. But BSY ''s masterful handling of the Covid pandemic in Karnataka has silenced his critics. Even though Bengaluru is the third largest city in India, its Covid 19 figures and death rate are lower than all other metropolises such as Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Ahmedabad. The experienced BSY enlisted the cooperation of the Opposition and the minorities, in the all out war against the disease. The CM heeded the advice of medical experts and senior bureaucrats. Santhosh may have had his way in selecting non entities as BJP candidates for the three Rajya Sabha seats, but BSY remains boss of Karnataka. An impressed Amit Shah consulted the Karnataka CM for advice on how to tackle the pandemic in the National Capital Region.
There are many terrific, classic examples of this (here are Linker''s choices). But in the past decade, filmmakers have increasingly moved away from simple stories depicting idealized American patriotism, and grappled with that idea of complexity both the good and the bad, the beautiful and the tragic, the laudable and the despicable about this 244 year old country. Today, the best movies about America touch on class and race. They wrestle with the ghosts of our past and dream of a better future. They recast the ways we've mythologized ourselves. They turn over the Bush years, the Great Recession, the Obama era, and describe history with a more discerning, less homogenous eye. Many of the films, also, were misunderstood upon release, and have only come to be definitive of an era with the benefit of hindsight (it is also perhaps telling that the most films on this list are from during or immediately after a presidential election year). While there are dozens of other films that could deservedly be argued to be included alongside these, here are 16 movies from the past 10 years worthy of the title of the great modern film about America.
Many in the Indian media say that some grand conspiracy is afoot between China and Pakistan in which the latter has amassed about 20,000 troops in Gilgit Baltistan and is frantically consulting with Chinese generals. Besides some in the Indian media, such a story is close to the heart of Pakistan s retired Lt General Asad Durrani. In a recent article, the former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief talked about a combined China Pakistan effort against India with the hope to solve the Kashmir issue. However, the article expressed a wish that the two countries should have collaborated before the launch of the crisis in Ladakh. But the fact of the matter is that there is no indication of any extraordinary movement by Pakistan at the Line of Control (LoC) or the northern areas. Of course, there are troops in Gilgit Baltistan in anticipation of any possible tension and to organise elections next month in August, in which the army will play its role of ensuring its favourite candidate wins, but not the kind of numbers that intelligence reports published in the Indian media present. In fact, given the tension in the area, it would be odd for Pakistan not to ramp up its security, but an aggressive intent is not visible.
