All 11 south east Asian member countries of WHO resolved to eliminate measles and rubella or German measles by 2023 at the 72nd Session of WHO Regional Committee for South East Asia in New Delhi. They adopted a resolution, Strategic Plan for Measles and Rubella Elimination 2020 2024 , that lays down the road map and focus areas to achieve the elimination targets in the region. This resolution will add momentum to the already existing commitment that these countries have shown towards this end.In fact, the eradication of both these infectious diseases have been a priority since 2014. This was also the year when Measles Elimination and Rubella CRS Control by 2020 was declared as one of the eight Flagship Priority programmes for the south east Asian region and a regional strategic plan was implemented across all member states. All the attending member countries pledged to mobilise political, societal and financial support to ensure the success of this resolution.
The dock adapter is actually IDA 3, as the first IDA was lost during the SpaceX launch failure of its CRS 7 mission on June 28, 2015. IDA 2, which was intended to be the second installed on ISS, instead became the first and was delivered in July 2016 during the SpaceX CRS 9 resupply mission.IDA 2 has already proven effective, too: It received its first docking vehicle on March 3 of this year, when SpaceX 's Crew Dragon Demo 1 test vehicle used the automated docking procedure designed for this adapter to demonstrate how it will work eventually when crew are on board.
In a joint announcement at SNC Space Systems offices in suburban Denver, the companies announced that SNC had selected Vulcan to launch six Dream Chaser missions to the ISS under SNC s Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) 2 contract awarded by NASA in 2016.Dream Chaser will launch on a version of the Vulcan with a five meter payload fairing, four solid fuel strap on boosters and a two engine Centaur upper stage. That configuration will allow Dream Chaser to deliver more than 5,400 kilograms of cargo to the ISS. Dream Chaser will dispose of about 3,175 kilograms of cargo and bring back large quantities of cargo to Earth, landing on the runway at NASA s Kennedy Space Center.
Convex mirrors at the edge of the platforms and upgraded emergency talkback units are among a slew of recommendations made by the commissioner of railway safety on Day I of his probe into Saturday s fatal accident at Park Street Metro station. The CRS (Metro circle), J.K. Garg, who flew in from Delhi on Monday morning, sought enlarged footage from the CCTV cameras at Park Street station to ascertain which part of Sajal Kumar Kanjilal s hand palm or wrist was stuck between closing door flaps of an air conditioned rake, officials said.

As the agency reveals in a new update, mission managers recently decided to shut down one of the heaters on Voyager 2 which is designed to keep its cosmic ray subsystem (CRS) instrument at a comfortable temperature. This was done to conserve energy, but the CRS itself miraculously still works, despite dipping well below the temperatures it was tested at over four decades ago.

Behavior of mice aboard the International Space Station 20 female mice were transported to the International Space Station by SpaceX CRS-4 Dragon spacecraft. On NASA’s Rodent Habitat, the mice engaged in a full range of species-typical behaviors. After 7–10 days, younger mice began to exhibit distinctive circling or ‘race-tracking’ behavior that evolved into coordinated group activity. This activity may represent stereotyped motor behavior, rewarding effects of physical exercise, or vestibular sensation produced via self-motion. Sierra Nevada Corporation announced that it has completed its Commercial Resupply Services 2 contract called Integrated Review 4 and, therefore, has been cleared to assemble the Dream Chaser. The cargo plane is scheduled to have its first mission in 2020.SNC is one of the three private companies alongside SpaceX and Orbital ATK to win the CRS 2 contract from NASA in January 2016.
SpaceX is targeting Friday, June 29 for an instantaneous launch of its fifteenth Commercial Resupply Services mission (CRS-15) at 5:42 a.m. EDT, or 9:42 UTC, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Dragon will separate from Falcon 9’s second stage about nine minutes and thirty seconds after liftoff and attach to the space station on Monday, July 2. An instantaneous backup launch opportunity is available on Sunday, July 1 at 4:54 a.m. EDT, or 8:54 UTC. Both Falcon 9 and the Dragon spacecraft for the CRS-15 mission are flight-proven. Falcon 9’s first stage previously supported the TESS mission in April 2018, and Dragon previously supported the CRS-9 mission in July 2016. SpaceX will not attempt to recover Falcon 9’s first stage after launch.
A spacecraft that will demonstrate a range of innovative technologies to clean up space debris has been deployed from the International Space Station (ISS) and will soon begin its experiments in orbit. RemoveDebris, will attempt to address the build up of dangerous space debris orbiting Earth. It was transported to the ISS via the SpaceX CRS 14 launch in early April. The satellite was designed, built and manufactured by a consortium of space companies and research institutions, led by the Surrey Space Centre at the University of Surrey. The project is co funded by the European Commission.
The report, released April 26 by NASA s Office of Inspector General (OIG), also flagged a number of issues with all three companies that received Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) 2 contracts, from one company s reliance on a single, unproven spacecraft to use of foreign hardware by another.Under the existing CRS contracts awarded in 2008, Orbital ATK and SpaceX will deliver an estimated 93,800 kilograms of cargo to the ISS over 31 missions for a total cost of $5.93 billion. With the CRS 2 contracts, those two companies and Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) will transport 87,900 kilograms to the station on 21 missions for a projected cost of $6.31 billion. On a per kilogram basis, cargo transported to the ISS on CRS 2 missions will cost 14 percent more than that under the ongoing CRS contract.

Using old parts, the inmates built their own computers and used them to hack the prison's network. In addition to gaining access to areas of the prison, the duo also stole another inmate's personal information and successfully applied for five credit cards in his name. The inmates were part of a program called RET3, which disassembles out of date computer hard drives and other old technology like VCRs. The program was overseen by retired corrections employee Randy Canterbury, the Ohio Inspector General report says.

When people think of fungi, they often think of mushrooms or mold, but there is so much more to this diverse group of organisms. Not only are fungi used to make beer, wine and bread, but they are also vital ingredients in some of the most popular and successful medications ever developed. Their ability to create natural products with medicinal properties is going to be tested again -- this time on the International Space Station. As part of the NASA Micro 10 project, the Wang Group of the University of Southern California, along with the NASA Space Biology Program and CASIS, is preparing to send four four different strains of Aspergillus nidulans, a standard pharmaceutical research fungi, to the International Space Station. The fungi will be included in the payload being sent to the station on the upcoming SpaceX CRS 8 mission, which is expected to launch on April 8.
