Regions of Mars could be made habitable with a material silica aerogel that mimics Earth's atmospheric greenhouse effect, according to a study by NASA and Harvard researchers. People have long dreamed of re shaping the Martian climate to make it livable for humans. Carl Sagan was the first outside of the realm of science fiction to propose terraforming. In a 1971 paper, Sagan suggested that vapourising the northern polar ice caps would yield atmosphere over the planet, higher global temperatures through the greenhouse effect, and a greatly increased likelihood of liquid water. Now, researchers from the Harvard University and NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab in the US, have shown that a two to three centimeter thick shield of silica aerogel could transmit enough visible light for photosynthesis, and block hazardous ultraviolet radiation. Doing so will also raise temperatures underneath permanently above the melting point of water, all without the need for any internal heat source, according to the study published in the journal Nature Astronomy.
Listening to some relaxing tunes is as effective in reducing the anxiety felt my most patients immediately before surgery as pumping them with anti anxiety drugs. This is according to new research from the University Of Pennsylvania, which found that patients listening to soothing music on noise cancelling headphones had similar anxiety levels to those who had been administered the sedative midazolam. Which suggests that music could be used as a drugless alternative for treating pre surgery anxiety.
Google announced in a blog post on Thursday that the update will arrive with the release of Chrome 76 later this month. Original Mission Video as aired in July 1969 depicting the Apollo 11 astronauts conducting several tasks during extravehicular activity (EVA) operations on the surface of the moon. The EVA lasted approximately 2.5 hours with all scientific activities being completed satisfactorily. The Apollo 11 (EVA) began at 10:39:33 p.m. EDT on July 20, 1969 when Astronaut Neil Armstrong emerged from the spacecraft first. While descending, he released the Modularized Equipment Stowage Assembly on the Lunar Module's descent stage. A camera on this module provided live television coverage of man's first step on the Moon. On this, their one and only EVA, the astronauts had a great deal to do in a short time. During this first visit to the Moon, the astronauts remained within about 100 meters of the lunar module, collected about 47 pounds of samples, and deployed four experiments. After spending approximately 2 hours and 31 minutes on the surface, the astronauts ended the EVA at 1:11:13 a.m. EDT on July 21.
Selling your used bath water might just get you into some hot water with Instagram (pun intended.) YouTube star and social media personality Belle Delphine recently stirred up a bit of controversy when she posted a video online about how she would sell her used bath water to "thirsty gamer boy" followers for $30 a pop. The product sold out in three days, but Belle's Instagram mysteriously disappeared, so what happened?
Delphine went viral recently for promising to make a Pornhub account if her Instagram post received one million likes. She followed through with making the account, but trolled her horny followers with titles like "Belle Delphine plays with her PUSSY" and recording herself playing with plush cats. A month later, she continued her grift by selling her own "GamerGirl Bath Water." Her Instagram photos were lewd, but never showed full nudity. Several people are taking credit for the takedown, though its likely anyone who reported the account received a message saying it was removed.

After Ebola claimed the lives of more than 1700 people in DR Congo, WHO has declared a state of global emergency. This Ebola outbreak is considered to be the worst ever and has the potential to affect millions of people in neighboring nations. The anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing—one of mankind’s greatest achievements—has inspired us to dramatically step up our own work, enhancing our earlier moon-landing demo with NVIDIA RTX real-time ray tracing technology. The result: a beautiful, near-cinematic depiction of one of history’s great moments. Relive the moment with commentary from Buzz Aldrin, whose giant leap years ago inspires new generations of moonshots today.
Collins did not leave any boot prints on the moon, but he was ;the ticket home; the the men who did, he told TIME in a recent interview. While Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz " Aldrin descended to the lunar surface, Collins was tasked with staying in orbit and tending to the command module that would eventually return all three men safely home.

On July 21, fifty years ago, NASA made history with its magnificent Apollo 11 mission. Neil Armstrong was the first human to ever step foot on the Moon, and this feat was a cumulative effort of over 400,000 people working in unison. The Apollo 11 rocket left Earth on July 16, 1969, and came back on July 24, 1969. A total of three astronauts were on the ship Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins and this first successful mission to the Moon earned them praises and created a monumental moment etched in history. To celebrate this occasion, Google has released a Google Doodle video wherein astronaut Michael Collins recounts the entire space mission, as it happened. The Google Doodle on the search giant's homepage shows Armstrong setting foot on the moon for the first time. While three astronauts were a part of this one of a kind voyage, Armstrong rose to fame simply because he was the first human to step on the Moon. When you click on the doodle, it pops up a YouTube video that recounts the space journey.
"Switching between audio songs to music videos is as simple as the tap of a button. Users will notice a video button at the top of the screen as they start listening to a song and with a tap, they can instantly start watching the music video or flip back to the audio at the same point," Brandon Bilinski, Product Manager, YouTube Music wrote in a blog post on Thursday. YouTube Music also ensures that in instances when a user decides to flip from video to the audio, all the other sounds that go with the music video like long introductions would not be included in between the audio song.
