Jeff Bezos' rocket company, Blue Origin, launched NASA experiments into space Wednesday on a brief test flight.The New Shepard rocket blasted off from West Texas, hoisting a capsule containing the experiments. The eight experiments were exposed to a few minutes of weightlessness, before the capsule parachuted down. The rocket also landed successfully, completing its fourth spaceflight."That, everybody, is a reusable rocket," said launch commentator Ariane Cornell, director of astronaut and orbital sales. "Welcome home, New Shepard."This was Blue Origin's 10th test flight, all precursors to launching passengers by year's end. The capsules have six windows, one for each customer. Blue Origin isn't taking reservations just yet. Instead, the Kent, Washington, company is focusing on brief research flights.Wednesday's flight lasted just over 10 minutes, with the capsule reaching 66 miles high, or 107 kilometres, well within the accepted boundary of space. The experiments featured electronics, rocket fuel, dust particles and biological imaging equipment.New Shepard is named after the first American in space, Alan Shepard. The company is also developing an orbital class rocket, New Glenn, which will soar from Cape Canaveral. It's named after the first American to orbit Earth, John Glenn.Bezos is the founder of Amazon.

SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk has unveiled the first pictures of a shiny, monster rocket called Starship, which will depart on its first test flights in Texas in March or April. The vehicle is integral part of Musk's plan of space tourism and may one day carry humans to deep space destinations, such as the moon and Mars. Starship test flight rocket just finished assembly at the @SpaceX Texas launch site. This is an actual picture, not a rendering. Elon Musk wrote in Twitter.

Two American citizens fighting for ISIS have been apprehended in Syria after Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) special operations units raided an Islamic State compound near the Syria Iraq border on Sunday. Warren Christopher Clark, a 34 year old originally from Texas who goes by the name Abu Muhammad al Ameriki, was arrested along with another American expat Zaid Abed al Hamed, 35 after U.S. backed forces discovered the militant group was preparing to launch terrorist attacks against Syrian civilians in the area. In addition to the two Americans, the SDF also captured two fighters from Pakistan and one from Ireland.
One of the Americans was identified as 34 year old Warren Christopher Clark, aka Abu Mohammad al Ameriki, who formerly taught in Texas. The other was 35 year old Zaid Abed al Hamid, aka Abu Zaid al Ameriki, according to the Syrian Democratic Forces.
