As businesses migrate to online platforms to meet consumer demand during these times, having a secure network to protect organisation and customer data should be a part of the technology backbone. However, this new focus on going digital also attracts bad actors. With most of the workforce now working remotely and with the increased use of digital services by new customers and businesses, online fraud attacks have increased by 20 per cent during the ongoing pandemic. While this exposes vulnerability arising from the lack of a robust IT infrastructure, businesses must strive to strike the right balance between digitizing their businesses and managing fraud risk efficiently. As fraudsters attempt to exploit this window of opportunity, MSMEs need to reassess their risk strategy to combat cyber threats. Here are some of the important steps that can boost the risk health of a business and help MSMEs safeguard themselves against frauds while building a comprehensive fraud strategy:Invest in secure IT infrastructure: The global crisis has changed the way businesses function and has also led to a rising threat of cyber frauds and data breaches. With more customers moving to digital platforms and businesses increasingly using customer information and data, investing in robust IT infrastructure has become critical. Earlier, one of the biggest impediments for MSMEs to deploy complex IT infrastructure was the cost associated with it. However, in the digitally connected world and with SaaS (Software as a Service), MSMEs will find it easier to implement necessary and critical IT security policies to combat growing cyber frauds.Beware of phishing attacks: Fortinet s recent survey points out the increase in phishing attempts post the Covid 19 outbreak and websites claiming helpful information on the coronavirus have emerged as dominant threats. Phishing attacks can take many forms, with the most common being through emails. MSMEs can manage these threats by ensuring proper firewalls, allowing remote access only from known IP addresses, using the latest version of remote management applications and examining logs regularly for signs of unknown suspicious activity. Additional measures like maintaining compliance with all security controls and educating employees about potential threats and raising alerts can be effective in mitigating organizational risks.Enable contactless deliveries: Most businesses now offer contactless or low touch deliveries to protect their delivery partners and customers. While this is in line with the need to maintain social distancing and provide additional safety, it is also essential for quicker service when coupled with contactless forms of payment. However, this may lead to an increase in goods not received disputes for businesses. Hence, to reduce the possibility of disputes and chargebacks, MSMEs ensure that delivery partners take a photo as proof of delivery and thereby help defend against claims of goods not received. Order online, pickup in store: With strict directives on social distancing still necessary, MSMEs that have both online and offline operations should leverage this with an Order online, pick up in store delivery model. This model helps consumers avoid shipping fees and enables customers to pick up purchases in store as per their own schedules. However, the lack of information on the customer shipping address and a few parameters of payment data not being captured could be a collateral risk.Check shipping details: As contactless deliveries gain popularity, fraudsters have started manipulating the shipping address on the checkout pages to unoccupied houses or new buildings, allowing them to pick up packages that have been left outside. While it is not possible to check every shopper s address for validity, merchants should carefully check details in the shipping addresses that might be used to reroute packages. With Covid 19 likely to have a huge impact on MSMEs in the next few months, businesses need to realign to evolving customer needs and implement secured, risk free solutions that protect customers and partners. Secure IT and payments infrastructure will be the backbone for small businesses to operate better and eventually gain consumer trust in their platforms.Vipin Surelia is the Chief Risk Officer, India amp; South Asia at Visa. The unprecedented Corona Lockdown has changed the face of the Indian economy and companies are leveraging Innovation to face the ”new normal ”. These innovations range widely mdash; from inexpensive alternatives in form of 3D printed Rs 20 Face shields; new partnerships such as Uber Big Basket tie up to deliver essential products; or tech driven contactless services like diagnostic robots at Apollo Hospital, Bangalore. On one hand, it is heartening to see widespread acceptance of innovation as the tool to spur the next growth wave. On the other hand, one worries that Indians are often seen as champions of ”Frugal ” or stripped down innovation, frequently missing the mark on quality or last mile connectivity. When the primary focus is on delivering the low cost product that uses minimum raw material, businesses disregard that Innovation is both a process and an outcome. The ”jugaad ” mentality forces one to ignore the robustness of the innovation process.

Technology has made it easier than ever to adopt a wide variety of novel business models effectively. At the same time, increased pace of innovation and global competition has made differentiation more important than ever.In addition, with the havoc caused by COVID 19, we 're already seeing that even though many businesses are battling for survival, there are also winners. Those winners usually possess very robust business models, which further outlines the importance of business model innovation in times like this.
Donald Trump likes to claim that he is the first U.S. president to ”get tough ” on China. Trump, along with his advisers and supporters, argues that his trade war and export controls have made him Beijing ''s worst nightmare. Whereas previous presidents carried out policies that allowed China to take advantage of the United States, the narrative goes, Trump is the first chief executive to stand up to China and robustly defend America ''s interests. But this narrative does not withstand scrutiny. On the contrary, a growing number of Chinese government officials and strategic thinkers believe Trump ''s policies offer China significant strategic benefits; as a result, they would in fact prefer to see Trump reelected in November. These Chinese observers have analyzed Trump ''s weakening of the United States ' reputation and leadership in global governance institutions, destruction of its post ndash;World War II alliance structures, and exacerbation of domestic political polarization and concluded that these trends not only harm Washington ''s international position but also boost Beijing ''s global standing.

Apple is not keen on setting up new factories for its flagship iPhones in India despite considering "plans" in the past. A report published on Monday suggests that the production of iPhone 11 will not come to country to due to the unavailability of skilled labour and robust infrastructure. Currently, the iPhone 11 is manufactured in China along with many other Apple products. However, due to this, the Cupertino based company has taken a big blow as many factories in China have come to halt following coronavirus outbreak.According to the report by The Wall Street Journal, despite repeated attempts by the operations staff, Apple''s senior executives were not keen on moving production factories outside China to countries such as India and Vietnam. In 2019, Apple had even planned to shift iPhone 11 production to India from China, the report added. The move was later rebuffed as Apple feared this could jeopardise its sales in China that counts for nearly a fifth of its total revenue. The availability of English speaking affordable skilled labour is another factor Apple doesn''t want to let go.
HTC ''s Vive Pro released roughly two years after the original Vive and while it was not a full generational update, it featured a considerably higher combined resolution of 2880x1600 at 90 Hz refresh rate, as well as a revamped design for increased comfort. Originally priced at $799, HTC ''s Vive Pro VR headset was aimed at a mix of professional VR developers and users who needed a more robust headset with more support options, as well as virtual reality enthusiasts who demanded the best experience possible. After the release of the Vive Cosmos headset last October, Vive Pro ''s appeal naturally decreased. The newer model offers similar image quality, a built in inside out 6 degree of freedom (6DoF) positional tracking system, and numerous other innovations, but at a $100 lower price point (when compared to the Vive Pro). With its price cut, HTC seems to be addressing this inconsistency.
Space Exploration is a challenging, complex and very expensive endeavour. Any mission scenario is different and similarly challenging from the other. Currently the major space agencies are working towards destinations where human beings could one day live, such as the Moon and Mars. From my point of view both Celestial bodies are important for the future of exploration, for different reasons. The Moon for its vicinity to us and its strong relation with our wonderful planet; Mars being the only planet in our solar system that for distance and basic characteristics could be a realistic target for long duration space exploration. Nevertheless, and in order to achieve solid results it is very important to synchronise as much as possible the technological developments. If we wish one day to have humans living outside Earth, a clear step no matter the target shall be detailed by scientific characterisation and knowledge of the corresponding environments. We still need to understand how to protect our astronauts from the harsh space environment, how to use the planetary local resources for refurbishment or life support, get to know if there has been life on a certain surface and what happened, so on.The list of technologies needed for the next big move in space can be very large and different depending on the final target. For sure, launch vehicles are still a limit for space exploration in general, and even more in the case of human space exploration. We are still very young in in situ resources, utilisation and exploitation, in radiation protection, etc. Regarding Martian rovers an evident key area is giving them as much autonomy and long traverse capabilities as possible. The latter clearly for a wider access to the planetary surface. Regarding on board autonomy it is essential to increase as much as possible the scientific return, robustness and reliability, on board resources optimisation, the future collaboration with astronauts, etc.

The Sandvik TH663i and Sandvik TH551i trucks with the new transmission are expected to increase productivity and enable shorter cycle times. Maximum speed and efficiency in varying ramps and with different loads are achieved with eight gears and optimised axle ratio, compared to previous transmission with six gears. The fully proportional, more powerful hydraulic retarder operates simultaneously with the engine brake, enabling easier downhill control and higher speeds. Further, lock up to lock up gear shifting enables quick and smooth shifting and keeps speed better while driving uphill.Improved reliability and reduced costs are achieved with robust and simple design, made specifically for heavy off road application. Compared to the previous model, the transmission lifetime is expected to be longer, and less gearbox changeouts are required during the truck lifetime, reducing total costs. From the intelligence point of view, self diagnostics in the transmission control system has been improved and fully integrated into the Sandvik Intelligent Control System, enabling easy and fast trouble shooting without external diagnostics tools or laptops.
