The Waorani people of Pastaza are an indigenous tribe from the Ecuadorian Amazon and have lived in the Rainforest for generation on generation. Although the Amazon fires currently burning away are in Paraguay, thousands of miles away from Ecuador, many are linking a burgeoning trend that may well end up in more forestry being destroyed across the nine countries that the Amazon spans. According to Reuters, the tribe had been battling an on going court case concerning the selling of sacred Amazonian lands to oil companies. The lands were originally auctioned off and approved to do so by the Ecuadorian government, much to the dismay of the indigenous tribe.A court decision ruled that the 2,000 strong tribe had not been properly consulted before the lands were sold off.

An Apple spokesperson suggests that the feature was originally ;introduced; last year, and is being displayed now because Apple recently expanded its authorized service network to 1,800 providers across the United States by adding every Best Buy store to the list. As such, four fifths of Apple customers are now within 20 minutes of an authorized service provider, enabling the company to assert that the vast majority of U.S. iPhone users can and should seek authorized repairs when their batteries degrade or fail. For iFixit and other independent repair shops, however, the issue isn 't just the loss of business, but the broad brush Apple is using to paint "unauthorized " battery repairs as potentially unsafe and the way it 's being portrayed as an established practice, when it was only recently turned on. According to Apple 's statement:
Kurbo was originally a startup created by Joanna Strober and Thea Runyan, lead behavior coach at Stanford's Pediatric Weight Control Program. Last year, WW acquired Kurbo, and also sparked controversy when it announced it would offer its program for free to teenagers. The company, whatever you may call it, just took a further step into the childhood obesity arena by launching Kurbo as an online program and iOS and Android app.The app begins by asking children some simple questions about their weight and height (but not their activity level) and then to choose among seven goals, which include items such as: Eat Healthier, Lose Weight, Improve Clothing Fit, Maintain Weight, and (intriguingly) Make Parents Happy. But even if you choose a not necessarily weight related goal such as Improve Confidence, the app will begin by asking you to track what you eat, assigning a green light to fruits and vegetables, a yellow light to such items as lean meats and pasta, and a red light to things like hamburgers and sweets. The idea is to eat as much as you want of the green light foods, the yellow foods in moderation, and to "stop and think" before choosing the red light foods.

OnePlus TV, the much anticipated offering by the Chinese company, is now rumoured to debut in late September. Instead of launching just one new OnePlus TV, the company is said to have plans to bring a range of smart TVs including the ones sporting OLED panels. A certification listing last week revealed that the OnePlus TV could come in sizes ranging from 43 inches to 75 inches. Originally, OnePlus announced its plans to venture into the market of smart TVs last year. The company affirmed that it would offer a "total connected" experience through its smart TV taking on Xiaomi that offers a range of Mi TV models.Citing people familiar with the development, tipster Ishan Agarwal in a collaboration with MySmartPrice reports that the OnePlus TV launch date is some time between September 25 and September 30 with the launch event most likely to be scheduled for September 26. OnePlus is said to have multiple smart TV variants in the works with LCD and OLED panels.
While the page was originally meant as a prank, it specified a date for the phony event, and that may have compelled some people and media outlets to visit the area simply to see if anything would happen on the day the phony event was scheduled.Reporter Daniel Van Boom of CNET.com spoke with the man who started the Facebook event page: "I never got any reason behind the event being removed, " Mathew Roberts, the originator of the Facebook event page, told CNET s Van Boom. "I created a sister event which amassed about 15,000 people before being taken down for no reason. "

Christian Orthodox bishop Neophytos Masouras of Morphou has recently presented his own theory for why there are gay people in the world: gay children are born because pregnant mothers enjoy anal sex and pass on the desire to their unborn child. The comments were originally made by the bishop in June while speaking at a primary school in Akaki, Cyprus.
