Absconding tycoon Vijay Mallya, wanted on charges of fraud and money laundering amounting to around Rs 9,000 crore, today claimed he met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley before leaving India and made "repeated offers" to "settle issues". The deal is worth about Rs 26,000 crore, Reuters reported quoting sources. With a debt totalling about Rs 45,000 crore, RCom 's deal with Jio was seen as a saviour.
