According to the estimates of a 2018 study published in the International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases, 1 in 100 people are affected by rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in India. RA is an autoimmune arthritis that can cause inflammation in your joints leading to stiffness, severe pain and immobility as well. This condition is more common in women compared to men, especially in the age group of 30 to 60 years. People tend to report this condition only after they witness severe health complications which is why it becomes difficult to treat this autoimmune disease. In order to spread awareness about these conditions, the International Foundation for Autoimmune and Autoinflammatory Arthritis initiated the World Autoimmune Arthritis Day on 20th May way back in 2012. This day also aims to help you understand the difference between general arthritis (mostly triggered by age or sedentary lifestyle, bad posture, weak bones, etc.) and an autoimmune arthritis. Autoimmune arthritis is a type of arthritis that affects your immune system. In this condition your defence mechanism attacks your own body. The most common manifestation of an autoimmune arthritis is found in swollen joints. But they can also affect other parts of the body, says Dr Nikhil Gupta, Rheumatologist, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Delhi. "Apart from RA, there are various other types of autoimmune arthritis like psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, lupus, " adds Dr. Gupta. However, as already mentioned, rheumatoid arthritis is the most common autoimmune arthritis that affects millions across the globe.
The Congress, with the comeback of their veteran leader and former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, could put a slight dent on the votes of the BJP. Earlier, due to the difference of opinion between Congress leader Ajay Maken, Dikshit and senior leaders the party was unable to come out with a concrete decision on alliance with AAP. However, as per Congress president Rahul Gandhi, the party was interested in forming an alliance only in Delhi while the AAP party leaders wanted it in Punjab and Haryana too.An interesting battle seems to in store in the high profile constituency of Chandani Chowk. The seat which has witnessed the dominance of Congress since its inception, will this time see a clash between two veterans from BJP and Congress. BJP has fielded sitting MP and Union minister, Harsh Vardhan against four time Lok Sabha MP, JP Agarwal from Congress and AAP #39;s backroom strategist and IT professional, Pankaj Gupta. Lack of infrastructure and stalled redevelopment projects are among the issues residents and business community grapple with in this Lok Sabha seat. Traders in the constituency said they were hit by the 2016 demonetisation and found it difficult to comprehend the GST. Many were also affected by the sealing drive. Security of women is also an issue in the constituency. Incumbent BJP MP Harsh Vardhan is pitted against Congress #39; old timer J P Agarwal, who represented the seat in 1984, 1989 and 1996 and AAP #39;s Pankaj Gupta who is making his electoral debut. Agarwal said he is fighting on all the issues be it sealing, GST and demonetisation. While Vardhan blamed the AAP government for not cooperating in several developmental projects, including the Shahjahanabad redevelopment project. If elected to power, AAP candidate Pankaj Gupta said he plans to convert parks in his constituency into "lungs " for the national capital.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi CEO served a notice to Kejriwal, also the convener of the AAP, seeking his response over allegations made by leader of opposition Vijender Gupta that pamphlets were being distributed by the party asking voters to take bribe from the Congress and the BJP but cast their votes in favour of AAP in the May 12 polls. ”We sent a notice to Arvind Kejriwal, convener of AAP, seeking his response on the matter. Kejriwal was asked to reply by Wednesday, 5 pm. But as the letter was dispatched late, we would wait for his reply till Thursday, ” said a senior official from the Delhi CEO 's office.
Leader of opposition in the Delhi assembly Vijendra Gupta Saturday said the Arvind Kejriwal led government had promised to spend Rs 7,500 crore on heath annually. ”The AAP also promised to add 30,000 beds with all medical staff and facilities in Delhi government hospitals. It promised that the additional beds would include 4,000 maternity beds. But after 50 months of governance, it could add only 213 beds. It failed to increase even a single bed in the maternity ward, ” he said.Gupta said the AAP, in its 2015 manifesto, had promised to ”remodel ” public hospitals in Delhi. ”During the last 50 months of its rule, the AAP failed to upgrade and remodel government hospitals. There is an acute shortage of life saving equipment in these hospitals. The strength of medical and paramedical staff is just 50%. There is also a shortage of ventilators in hospitals. The Delhi government had itself informed the Delhi high court in February that 52 of the 400 ventilators in these hospitals are non functional, ” he said.

The decision was taken by a bench comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Sanjiv Khanna. It said that there is no merit in the special leave petition. The court statement read: "We find no merit in the special leave petition. The same is, accordingly dismissed." After this decision, the pension will increase but the PF corpus will be reduced as more contribution will go to EPS and not PF. The Employees Pension Scheme was introduced by the government in 1995 for the organised sector employees. The scheme applies on all employees under the EPF scheme and people who are covered under EPS receive a pension on a permanent basis. Every employee with a monthly salary combined with DA of Rs 15,000 or lesser, must enroll in this scheme.
Have friends in opposition, Mamata didi sends me gifts, PM Modi tells Akshay Kumar Rajasthan: Having come from behind in Assembly polls, BJP may now buck 20 year trend ND Tiwari #039;s son murder case: Crime Branch arrests Rohit Shekar #039;s wife Apoorva Shukla Dipa Chaudhuri and Puneet Gupta Five years to acquire the rights for the Hindi versions, 24 hours to find the people who will translate it from French to Hindi, and another four years to get the first four albums out. You can get a fair idea of what we were attempting, says Dipa Chaudhuri, Editor in Chief, Om Books International, one of the two member team who have worked to get a Hindi version of the famed Asterix comics. The other part of the duo is Puneet Gupta, who has earlier translated Tintin to Hindi. We caught up with the duo at the residence of French Ambassador to India, Alexandre Zigler, where the comics were launched recently. The shenanigans of Asterix and his friend Obelix in their coastal village of Gaul, have shaped the popular culture of France and beyond. Created by Rene Goscinny and Albert Urdezo in 1959, the series has been translated in about 111 languages. Gaulwasi Asterix, Sone Ki Darati, Asterix Aur Gothwasi and Asterix Talwarbaaz are the four respective titles, priced at Rs 295 each, published by Om Books. One needed to be completely immersed in the over arching narrative of the series, and not simply translating it one album at a time. Something that happened to a particular character in the first one might resurface in the 17th one; one had to be a fan. And since they are the most widely read comics in the world, we couldn t be trivial, says Gupta.
French comics Ast rix is one of the best selling comic book series in the world. It has been published in 111 languages and dialects until now, selling over 375 million copies worldwide. On 27 March, the first four albums of the Ast rix series were launched for the first time in a Hindi translation. Ast rix in Hindi was jointly released by the Ambassador of France to India, Alexandre Ziegler, and publisher Ajay Mago, at an event in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The albums have been translated by Dipa Chaudhuri, Chief Editor, Om Books International, and Puneet Gupta, an advertising professional who writes science fiction novels, short stories and humorous poetry.
