And presumably the Pixel 4 as well.
Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were launched yesterday, and something was noticed soon after it was unveiled the smartphones don't ship with a pair of earphones in the box. This is a little surprising since the company shipped a pair of Type C earphones along with the Google Pixel 3. That's not all, the company is also skipping out on a USB Type C to 3.5mm adapters in the box. These adapters are handy for those who wish to use their regular pair of headphones with the device. On the Google Store US page, the company clearly details what is bundled in the box of the Google Pixel 4 and the Google Pixel 4 XL. The phones come with an 18W USB Type C power adapter, 1 metre USB Type C to USB Type C cable, a Quick Switch Adapter, and a SIM tool, apart from the Quick Start Guide. There is no wired headphone, nor is there a USB Type C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter in the box.
It will also be exclusive to the US, and will only work in English as of now, although XDA Developers reports that Canada, the UK, and Singapore could be next, based on an examination of the Google app's code. This would imply that the new features will roll out for English speaking countries before others, though that is not yet confirmed.Using the newly revamped assistant, users can quickly open apps, search for information stored on their phones, and multitask between apps. Contextual awareness means that users can carry on a conversation, stringing multiple queries one after another, even building on the assistant's responses.
Google's new gesture navigation system for Android 10 has been divisive for numerous reasons, not the least of which it didn't work with third party launchers. The company committed to fixing this issue in a future Android release, and it appears that fix is already live on the Pixel 4 and 4 XL. Launchers like Nova can use the full gesture setup, so that's one shortcoming out of the way.
On Wednesday, the tech giant approved and then removed VPN tunnel management app WireGuard from the Google Play Store for having a donation button, according to the app's developer Jason Donenfeld.WireGuard itself is a free, open source project that promises to improve VPN technology. So to help fund it, Donenfeld has been asking for donations. Google, however, has strict policies regulating the way Android apps on the Play Store can receive funds.
Google Assistant got plenty of attention at the company's Pixel 4 event on Tuesday. But now, it's found itself in hot water with Android phone users.
The source of the pictures is the German tech blog, Winfuture.de. The pictures are promo images and they show that the Google Nest Mini looks just like the 2017 Google Home Mini. It still has that donut design and it comes in anthracite, coral, rock candy (light gray) and sky blue. The Nest Mini may pass for the Home Mini but that is only when you place them face up. If you turn them upside down, then you should see a distinguishing feature. Google has put a hole at the bottom of the Nest Mini to make it easy to hang on walls rather than sitting on a flat surface. They have also included a 1.5 meter long cable that should suffice when you mount the speaker on the wall.
The Nest Wifi system will include a Nest Wifi router and two Nest Wifi points that will help extend network range. In addition to extending network range, the Nest Wifi point will also be able to function as a Google Assistant speaker, just like the Nest Home Mini. As can be seen in the hands on images above, the bottom part of the Nest Wifi point has speaker grills, while at the rear is a microphone mute switch. A bright glow will emanate from the bottom when the microphone is muted.
Nevertheless, in these final hours ahead of the October 15 ”Made By Google ” event, which gets underway at 10 a.m. Eastern in New York, the rumors and leaks are still trickling out. Like this one: The design of the Nest Mini that Google is expected to unveil tomorrow was leaked on Monday.
The Pixel 4 is Google's most ambitious phone yet, and it's also the first Pixel phone being sold across all of the major carriers. And it's easy to see why AT amp;T, Sprint, T Mobile and Verizon all want Google's latest device. For those who prefer Android, the Pixel 4 is a great alternative to the iPhone 11, with highly capable dual rear cameras, a face unlock feature that promises to be faster than Apple's Face ID and an improved Google Assistant that runs circles around Siri.
Users of Android phones are being told to delete 15 apps or risk a major data breach.
