The communal violence that rocked Northeast Delhi two weeks ago, the massive human and material losses Muslims had to suffer and the indifference of all political parties to their plight make one conclusion inevitable: the only option left for Indian Muslims is to organise themselves politically. All other choices they have so far exercised have been utterly futile. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) said that the field staff will be briefed about a possible ISIS attack on personnel deployed for COVID 19 duty. "Police personnel deployed at various pickets, barricades in Delhi in connection with maintaining of law and order in Delhi during the COVID 19 duty may be targeted by suspected ISIS operatives. The field staff may be briefed accordingly," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi government has asked the Delhi Police to register a FIR against a maulana for flouting quarantine protocols. This comes as almost 175 people in Delhi were taken to quarantine centres after they started showing symptoms of Covid 19 after attending a religious gathering in Nizamuddin area of Delhi.While a lockdown had only been imposed on 24 March, the government had passed an order to curb the gathering of large number of people to control the spread of Covid 19. NEW DELHI : New Delhi: With schools shut to curb the spread of covid 19, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi government on Monday announced that all students from nursery to class eight will be promoted without exams.The government has also planned to hold classes for school students where assignments will be sent through phone messages and interactive voice recordings (IVR) for students of nursery up to class eight. For students of class 12 and 10, the government will hold two online classes a day.

The Delhi Police Monday said curfew passes are mandatory for inter state travel from 24 March, which means travel between Delhi and its neighbouring areas, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Gurugram and Manesar, will require a curfew pass.An exception has been made for government officials engaged in essential services, but personnel will be required to show their identity cards, said Commissioner of Police, S.N. NEW DELHI: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Friday urged the government to defer goods and advance tax (GST) and advance tax payments, and sought scrapping of fees for licenses, permit renewals, and excise exemption for liquor for the hospitality and travel industry that have been hit hard by the Covid 19 outbreak.The suggestion was part of the proposed action points, sent to the central government, aimed at revival of travel, tourism, and aviation companies.
