It s that time of the year where everyone wants to dive in and give their own rendition of holiday classics, and the Oklahoma rock band The Flaming Lips are no different. This year the band decided to drop a cover and psychedelic music video to the songs Peace on Earth Little Drummer Boy. The song preferences are considered to be a homage to David Bowie and Bing Crosby s 1977 medley of the same songs from the TV special Bing Crosby;s Merrie Olde Christmas. In the video, the group are dripping in bejeweled robes, blue and green face paint, Roman helmets and crowns and shimmering bright wigs. Guitarist and keyboardist Steven Drozd is the only exception to this rule as he s seen dressed relatively normal compared to his bandmates. The video and the song were recorded at Wayne Coyne s Pink Floor Studios in Oklahoma City, with Coyne and George Salisbury directing the short clip.
The Flaming Lips have shared a cover of two holiday classics, "Peace on Earth" and "Little Drummer Boy," which they have mashed up together. The track was shared via a strange video that features most the band in strange makeup and alien outfits, all except Steve Drozd for some reason, who is dressed fairly normally. The track is in homage to Bing Crosby and David Bowie, who also mashed up the two songs in 1977 as part of a TV special, Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas, which was recorded just five weeks before Crosby's death and broadcast after his passing. The Bowie Crosby version was eventually released as a single in 1982. Watch both versions below.Read our 2017 cover story interview with The Flaming Lips on Oczy Mlody from our 15th Anniversary Issue

My love for all things paranormal and skateboarding are sometimes only superseded by my love for offensive humor, says DeLonge. This series combines them all into one. As the co founder of Blink 182, Tom DeLonge helped make pop punk classics such as I Miss You, All the Small Things, What s My Age Again?, Dammit, and After Midnight. The talented star went on to create a website called Strange Times in 2011 which DeLonge used to report news on the paranormal. Throughout the years the site continued to be a creative outlet for the artist as it morphed into a site containing books and other merchandise.
Oh man, I managed to dig up this old Promo Blu-Ray and through magic I managed to obtain the video from said disc. Here is Sony in the early years boasting about the great game lineup it had already and was soon to bring to the table. Let's look back at the "Welcome to the PS3 and PSN"! Featuring games like Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank Future, Lair, Motorstorm, Warhawk, Playstation Home, Super Stardust HD, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Wipeout HD, Calling All Cars, Blast Factor, Lemmings, Flow, Genji, PS1 Classics, and many more! The disc featured many game trailers (working on getting those individually as well) and also movie trailers to promote the use of Blu-Ray (I will not include individual ones but will probably post the PS3 specific Blu-Ray trailer). I will definitely have trailers posted through the weekend and if things go properly, through all of next week as well at least.
